Agnes, (b. 1976, Chicago) moved to Poland in the 1980s—when everybody was trying to travel in the opposite direction. As she adjusted to the shift between two polar opposite cultures – that of the US and Poland pre the fall of the Berlin Wall – she experienced what she describes as a "very intense inner journey." “Over the years, as I explore the concept of home, I’ve arrived at a deep understanding of what it means to leave your place of origin for another world: to frequently embrace new destinies, new cultures, languages, roles, and responsibilities,” she explains.

Agnes then returned to Chicago to study art history and international relations at Lake Forest College, with abroad studies in Spain and Chile. It was here that started to develop her own photography practice. What followed were several roles in the Chicago art world, namely at a gallery specialising in Western artwork and bronzes, and then at the Art Institute of Chicago. The uprooting journey continued as she moved to Switzerland, and life took an unexpected turn towards a career in international banking. Motherhood was the catalyst to switch to another, more familiar world. With her curiosity aroused to experiment once again with art and photography, she further consolidated her visual language at SKDZ Schule für Kunst und Design Zürich and at F+F School in Zurich, and by attending various workshops at Les Rencontres d'Arles.

Since 2023, she has gone on to complete a number of curated series, all with a focus on discovering the 'essence', and has dedicated herself full time to her artistic practice.
